Introduction and Description of Materials
Types of Works
Abundant confusion also surrounded the
concept of Pan-Africanism and for that reason a considerable amount of
material describing its ideation and materialization was necessary. The
materials informing the Pan-African historiography surrounding Nkrumah and
Nkrumahism are described in this section. Most of these works are
described under the section of tertiary works and reviewed under the section
entitled "Pan-African Historiography."
Throughout
this work the fundamental works addressing Afrocentricity,
African-centeredness, and the Afrocentric method are buffered by the key
texts of Asante, Keto, and Obenga. What follows is a description of
primary, secondary, and tertiary sources that inform this site.
